Document Control

Document Control is the task of recording every event in the life of a technical document incoming from a third party; subcontractor, supplier etc, or your own. Document control relates to the receipt or creation / revision, and issue of documents to third parties (and acknowledgment of receipt), return to you by them with their status and any comments, and for third party documents, coordinating your own status and comment, and finally returning to the initiator. TDOC raises all the necessary ancillary documents including transmittal notes, acknowledgment notes, and comment sheets.

Document control is becoming more critical in the construction sector as costly mistakes and errors brought about by using the incorrect version of a document can lead to downtime, missed deadlines and ultimately expensive litigation.

Document control using TDOC software achieves the following:

  • Reduces errors in document administration and makes finding all documents, drawings, emails and transmittal notes relating to a project easy to find.
